  • Question: Having a real problem expanding the grate - it seems to be stuck... any suggestions?

    Answer: Sometimes on sliding meta assemblies, the metal 'rolls' leaving a bead which binds the ability to slide. If you have any play, you should try to find the offending section and sand. Otherwise you can try heating and/or cooling while attempting to move it... this should help to break it free in order to attempt the aforementioned.
  • Question: Will this fit my grillpro model: 238289? Two of these should be enough?

    Answer: It should I have an Aussie and it works great.
  • Question: Will this fit a three burner grill?

    Answer: No I had to buy an additional piece to fit my small 2 burner.
  • Question: This looks like it will burn through fast. Does it last long?

    Answer: A lot depends on how frequently you use your grill. I use my grill on the average of 2-3 times a month with grilling time of under 20 minutes per use. I have used this grate since 2014 and the grate has not burned through.
  • Question: When installing rock grate, should I remove heat plates or leave them in place?

    Answer: I'm not sure if I fully understand your question, but if the rock grate fits with the heat plates in place there will probably be less chance of flare-ups.
  • Question: Does this grate adjust in both length and width?

    Answer: Adjustable width: 11' minimum to 14' maximum. Adjustable length 17' minimum to 25' maximum. Yes both.
  • Question: What are the measurements?

    Answer: Measures do not have accurate, but not very good grill.
  • Question: Can this rock grate be modified by cutting the grates to fit in a 9-1/2 inch wide grill?

    Answer: I think yes, it can. Only with caveat: You notice the curves on the upper right and lower left of the picture? If you were to use a cutoff for the grate of the ~2 inches you would need, you would have to either cut off one of these corners and/or rebend to account for the cut off grate portion. Doable... but possibly more work than simply buying a traditional rectangle grate and using a cutoff on that to size... less handling I believe!

The grate is not meant to come in contact with the food being prepared. The width is adjustable from 11" to 14" and the length from 17" to 25". Some users have found it difficult to expand the grate and recommend sanding it down if it gets stuck. Others recommend heating or cooling it to break it free. The product seems to last long depending on the frequency of usage. Some have replaced it yearly due to rusting. Overall, it is a cheap and easily adjustable solution for converting a gas grill to a ceramic briquettes style grill.
