It has four wires: red and black for input power, duller red and green/yellow for output. The yellow/green wire is the high voltage return wire, and it goes to the collection plate. The dull brownish red wire is the neg. high voltage lead, and it goes to the ion emitter. The red wire is the input power lead, and the black wire is the neutral input power lead. It does not come with the stainless steel pin emitter, and it cannot run off a 9-volt battery. Customers generally find this product useful for making an ionizer, static grass applicator, and arc screen for generating O2. Some wished that there was a wiring diagram to identify the wires. A lead diagram and more detailed instructions would have been helpful, but it works as expected, and it's a neat little gadget. A few reviewers experienced difficulty using it, while others found it easy to use.
