In this editorial review, the Wireless Apple CarPlay Retrofit kit aimed at Porsche PCM3.1 users offers an intriguing mix of experiences from those who have installed and used it. Many users highlight the successful integration of Apple CarPlay into their vehicles, allowing them to modernize their older systems effectively. The performance, once set up, is generally praised for its wireless connectivity and sound quality, making for a satisfying user experience while driving. Multiple users report that the kit functions as advertised with minimal lag and solid connection once paired. However, the installation process is a common sticking point, with many reviewers expressing frustration over the lack of comprehensive instructions and support from the manufacturer. A few users have detailed how the installation could take several hours and might require specific knowledge or tools to handle the wiring and positioning of components properly. Instances of connection issues, especially involving sound, were reported, with suggestions to use dummy plugs or explore auxiliary options—albeit, not always yielding successful results. A notable concern is the customer support experience; some buyers described it as lacking, especially in light of the installation challenges. Problems persisting post-installation, like having to reconnect their factory systems or issues caused by unclear instructions, drew significant criticism. Despite these concerns, those who were able to navigate the installation or sought professional assistance seem pleased with the performance of the kit, indicating that a successful setup leads to a fulfilling usage experience. However, discrepancies in visual output, such as aspect ratio distortions, were mentioned, which could be a point of contention for detail-oriented users. Despite these challenges, many still view the kit as a worthwhile investment to enhance their driving experience. **
